Privacy Policy

Vera ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

Vera is a local-first app. The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:

Display name (optional, entered during onboarding)
Onboarding preferences (motivation, obstacles, outcome selections)
Vision board selections and rankings
Daily task completions, mood ratings, hydration logs, and reflection notes
Progress photos (stored locally in the app's sandboxed storage)
Notification preferences and reminder times
Theme and customization settings

We do not operate a backend server. Your personal data stays on your device.

2. Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience. This includes:

Screen views and feature usage (e.g., which tabs are visited, when tasks are completed)
Onboarding flow progression
Aggregate engagement metrics (e.g., streak milestones, day completions)

Analytics events do not contain your name, photos, reflection text, or other personal content. We do not sell or share analytics data with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Crash Reporting

We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. When the app encounters an error, the following may be sent:

Stack traces and error messages
Device type and operating system version
App version and build number

Crash reports do not include your personal data, photos, or any content you've entered.

4. Subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store and managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives:

App Store purchase receipts
Subscription status and entitlement information
An anonymous customer identifier

We do not collect or store your payment information. All billing is handled by Apple. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Camera and Photo Library

Vera requests camera and photo library access only when you choose to capture a progress photo. Photos are:

Stored locally on your device in the app's private storage
Never uploaded to any server
Deleted when you delete the app or reset your data

6. Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, Vera schedules local notifications on your device. Notification content is generated locally and never sent through external push notification servers.

7. Children's Privacy

Vera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from the Profile tab in the app. This permanently removes all locally stored data including your progress, photos, and preferences. Since we don't store your data on any server, deletion is immediate and complete.

9. Third-Party Services

PostHog — analytics (privacy policy)
Sentry — crash reporting (privacy policy)
RevenueCat — subscription management (privacy policy)
Apple — App Store, payments, and StoreKit (privacy policy)

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
